Our client is seeking a highly experienced Unity Developer to lead the development and maintenance of our premier real-money backgammon app. As a skill-based wagering platform, our app requires a developer who prioritizes high-performance networking, absolute security, and a polished user experience.
We are looking for a specialist who can take full ownership of the frontend while possessing enough backend literacy to support the entire ecosystem in critical moments.
The Role
You will be responsible for expanding a live multiplayer environment. This includes implementing new features, creating engaging promotions, and refining animations to ensure the “feel” of the game matches the high stakes involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Build and deploy new screens, gameplay features, and promotional events within Unity.
- Networking Optimization: Maintain and enhance our multiplayer architecture using Unity Photon, ensuring seamless connectivity and state synchronization.
- UI/UX Refinement: Develop smooth animations and clean, responsive interfaces that cater to a premium gaming audience.
- System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve bugs across the stack to ensure 24/7 uptime for our wagering environment.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Unity & iOS: Proven track record of shipping and maintaining high-quality mobile games.
- Multiplayer Networking: Deep experience with Photon or similar real-time networking frameworks is essential.
- Backend Proficiency: Familiarity with Node.js is highly preferred. You should be comfortable navigating the backend to implement fixes or updates in emergency situations.
- Wagering/FinTech Awareness: Experience with financial transactions, secure data handling, or real-money gaming environments is a significant plus.
- Independent Execution: A demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a complex codebase, along with collaboratively with a backend engineer.

Requirements:
- 8+ years of Unity experience
- Versatility and deep experience of using AI to help in development process, accelerate feature development cycles, and other processes
- Live multiplayer networking experience required
- Knowledge of the game of backgammon preferred
- 5+ years of iOS, Android, and WebGL required
